Lorikitae Village in Napak District was the first to receive a water borehole. Women and girls had to walk 4.5 miles to the nearest clean water. Here is the village water committee receiving the training for maintaining their borehole.
This is the chief of Losagari Village in Poron Sub County of Napak Diistrict. This village has saved and contributed towards this borehole. Many other organizations promised them water but did not follow through. There are 11 neighboring villages that still lack a borehole.
There are 1,500 people that will benefit from this clean water!
Alakas Village had a devastating fire last year which displaced over 1,000 people. Everything was destroyed because they did not have a water borehole. People returned to this fertile land to rebuild, but it was a 3 mile trek over a mountain to the nearest borehole.
Now the village may rebuild with clean water for their children, animals and their crops.
